- Visits to local college Access to HE groups (Exeter College, South Devon College), usually late October
- Requests by prospective students to vist the University. These are generally students who are undertaking Access courses and they ‘shadow’ a current mature student who is undertaking an undergraduate degree in the subject of interest. The visit may include a tour round the campus, attending a lecture, visiting labs (where appropriate), meeting for coffee and a discussion. We also offer group visits to local colleges where the students attend a presentation about applying through UCAS, personal statements and student finance. It would be ideal if they could then meet with current mature students.
Please note that these events are aimed at undergraduate students so the experience of going to university is completely new to them. Applications from 1st and 2nd year undergraduate volunteers are especially welcomed.
For more details on these volunteer positions, please contact Sue Lucas by email – her address is available on the Exchange contact system, or from the mature student rep.
